Sourcing
Sources and method
Two upstreams, joined once at build time. Nothing is queried live, and nothing is inferred where a source is silent.
Launch Library 2
Every pad record here comes from Launch Library 2, maintained by The Space Devs. That covers the name, coordinates, map link, active status, operating agency, upstream launch tally and fastest turnaround.
It's a free, volunteer-run API and the reason a site like this can exist at all. If you use it, support it. We pull it at most once a week, cache every response to disk, and never call it at request time. We don't hotlink their image CDN either, which is why there's no launch photography here. That bandwidth is theirs to spend.

Space Index
The 8,128 flight records come from theSpace Index public API: date, mission, vehicle, orbit and outcome. Space Index also decides which company a flight belongs to, so an operator named here resolves to a real profile with funding, contracts and news instead of a bare string.
Natural Earth
The coastline on every map is Natural Earth 1:110m land, public domain, simplified and reprojected once into a static outline that ships with the site. It's part of the page, so the maps make no third-party request and load no mapping library.
How the numbers are derived
The pad join is exact: a flight is matched to a pad by pad name and site together, since names like "Unknown Pad" and "Launch Complex 16" repeat across sites. All8,128 flight records resolve to one of the 251 pads, with no misses and no double counting.
- Success rate is successes divided by decided outcomes, rendered with both counts. Scheduled and undetermined attempts are excluded from the denominator.
- First and latest flight use decided flights only, so a manifest entry years out never becomes a pad's "latest launch".
- Launches per year counts decided flights by calendar year of the recorded launch time (UTC).
- Vehicles, orbits and operators are tallies over the same flight set. A vehicle renamed upstream appears under both names, which is the source's shape and not something to silently merge.
- Fastest turnaround and the LL2 pad tally are carried through from Launch Library 2 unmodified and labelled as upstream figures. They can differ from the launch count on this page: the upstream tally is Launch Library 2’s own running total for the pad, while the count here is derived from the individual flight records this site holds. Both are shown rather than reconciled.
Corrections
A wrong coordinate, status or agency here is almost always wrong upstream. Fixing it inLaunch Library 2 fixes it everywhere, including on this site at the next build. Company-level corrections belong onSpace Index.
